Outdoor Retailer Winter Market Highlight Reel

Greetings from snowy Salt Lake City! Another Outdoor Retailer is under our belt, and, boy, was it a good time!

Because every day was jam-packed with more excitement, meetings, and events than you can shake a stick at, here are some of the highlights of the show.

Demo Day—The All-Mountain Demo is always a favorite to attend because we get to test all the newest winter sports gear and spend some time in the Wasatch mountains before being inside Salt Palace every day.

Adventure Publications—We introduced the newest member of our family, Adventure Publications, at the show! The children’s activity books and pocket field guides, in particular, were big hits.

Author signings—Three of our authors held book signings and sparked great conversations during the show. Rick Light of Backpacking the Light Way discussed ways to reduce weight in your pack without sacrificing comfort.

Greg Witt of 60 Hikes Within 60 Miles: Salt Lake City, 50 Best Short Hikes in Utah’s National Parks, and Exploring Havasupai talked about his favorite hikes in Utah’s National Parks.

Marcus Woolf of Afoot & Afield: Atlanta shared his favorite hikes in Northern Georgia.

Partnerships—We met with our friends at American Hiking Society and the Pacific Crest Trail Association. AHS is gearing up for a big year celebrating their 40th anniversary; stay tuned for some exciting events and sales in 2016!

Did you know that our PCT guides are the best-selling guidebooks for the trail? We met with the PCTA to talk about our long-awaited new editions (get stoked!) and big plans for the future of the PCT.

#Hikerchat Snowshoeing—Once again, Teton Sports hosted their annual #hikerchat snowshoe adventure in Big Cottonwood Canyon. Tubbs Snowshoes, Recovery Edge Therapy, and IO Merino, along with many outdoor bloggers, were all present and filled the woods with laughter and snowballs.
