Friday Foods – Balsamic and Basil Bagel Crisps
After the first few hiking trips of the season, trail mix gets a bit…dull. Here’s a snack recipe from A Fork in the Trail that will awaken your sleepy taste buds.
Balsamic and Basil Bagel Crisps
Makes six servings
2 large bagels
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 1/2 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Kosher salt to taste
At Home
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Slice the bagels in half, and then 1/8-inch thick so you have thin rounds the shape of large coins.
Mix the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, basil, thyme, and black pepper together in a small bowl. Let it sit for 10 minutes so the herbs infuse the oil. Brush one side of each bagel slice with the oil mixture and place seasoned-side up on a nonstick baking tray. Sprinkle with kosher salt.
Bake the slices for 10-15 minutes or until crispy. Let cool completely before packing in an airtight container.
Enjoy!
